S-style replacement sets
Our S-style replacements feature staggered or flat profile alnico 5 or 3 pole magnets, black fiberboard flatwork, cloth pushack vintage leads, Formvar magnet wire (plain enamel available +$5 per pickup), wax potted.
These sets are designed for the certain needs of "Strat" players everywhere. We balance the neck , middle, and bridge pickup so that every postion on the 5-way selector has an even response in volume, tone and eq. Incorporate traditional alnico magnets and carefully placed magnet wire windings and the result is the ultimate "Stratocaster" tone.
Magnet options.....
• Alnico 3 magnets enhance the crystal clear midrange in each of our S-style sets and provide a class "A" snap to your tone.
• Alnico 5 magnets back off the mids a touch for that stringy tone Strats are known for, and unveil the razor sharp clarity they are loved for.
• Alnico 5/3 mix. 5's on the bass strings keeps them lively with plenty of jangle, and 3's on the treble strings tames the
top-end and adds that distinctive snap and body.
We also include a free set of covers, your choice of 4 colors.
Alpha set- neck 5.8k, middle 5.6k, bridge 6.4k (all +/- .2k)
Our lowest output set and a nod to real vintage tone. Although 50's style pickups vary in build, we feel that the low winds represent the closest thing to getting that sound.(watch Alpha 3 video) (watch Alpha 5 video)
Bravo set- neck 6.2k, middle 6k, bridge 6.7k (all +/- .2k)
With the neck and middle wound to medium S-style output, you get a little more push compared to our Alpha set. Not hot, but just right.(watch Bravo 5/3 video)
Charlie set neck 6.4k, middle 6.2k, bridge 6.8k (all +/- .2k)
Trying to make your tubes sizzle a bit more? These are the pickups. Pump up the lows and mids a bit with a set of Charlies.
Our Stratcaster replacement sets come standard with a flat magnet profile. We also offer a staggered profile which is optional upon request. The staggered profile aligns better with vintage radius necks that are 7.25" and up to 9.5". Flat also works well with the 9.5" up to the flattest fretboards and compound radius'.
